I would buy them if they would hold my hood down. Damn your honesty. I think the stock latch on my car is going to have to go to fit a rad in front of the 1jz

ah but let's say you hid the alarm speaker under the hood you want to give them a hard time opening the hood so they can neither reach the battery or the wire to the alarm so the alarm can go off for longer...In a hope to scare them away/alert you or your neighbors.

(assume you hid the rest of the package well enough)

I thought hood latches were used as additional reinforcment to keep your hood closed in a motorsports related wreck. Not to keep people from jacking your motor's goodies. All of the rally cars I have ever teched have BEEFY hood latches.

those are called "hood pins"

these are "hood lock pins"

there is a difference. I am rocking hood pins now, I used to rock hood lock pins, which explains the cracked corners on my hood. The simple fact is that the little rod and the catch on the hood lock pins won't withstand any kind of crashing but hood pins will.....well to an extent. The metal rods on the lock pins are like....3mm diameter at best, whereas the hood pins you showed is at least 8mm or more. But lock pins work because to get to that pin you have to severely wreck the hood or drill through the hood which is very difficult in a car stealing process.
