are those struts on the left with the red adjustable sleeve handles, in decent condition?

07-12-2011, 01:00 PM
They are not. They are only useable for the spindles. Someone decided to weld aluminum collars onto steel casings. It almost worked, had they not have blown through the strut top threads.

axels zenki or kouki

They look like SR5 axles due to the skinny bearings, however you can still use them as Zenki axles, the spline diameters are identical.

07-12-2011, 11:43 PM
all E7 axles, not really willing to ship.....

the splines are all that is the same, the rest is different = wont work as GTS Zenki's

Today I learned something. Just curious, if you change out the SR5 bearings to GTS bearings would they work then? Is it an issue of the bearings outer diameter alone? Or is the diameter of the axle where the bearing sits different as well?

07-13-2011, 01:50 AM
I just pulled an SR5 rear end, the outside diameter looks the exact same... Actually I know it is because my GT-S backing plates fit the same way on both. I never really compared them in any other ways, but the axel housing looks identical to me...

the part where the bearing presses on is shorter on the SR5/TE72 vs AE86 GTS axles. anyways this is getting off topic, sorry quinn.

07-13-2011, 09:20 AM
I want all the e7 axles.

07-15-2011, 12:51 PM
In the 9th picture from the top on the original post, I think there's a black electric fan with shroud sitting towards the back. Would that fit on an ae? and does it have a temp sensor?

07-15-2011, 03:44 PM
Quinn has a lot on his plate right now, I don't think shipping is in the cards.

For those of you not in the know here's a little update:

I had run out of money the last Saturday. Some surprise costs emptied the little money I had stored away. With no prospects of work or support I began to prepare to return to Ontario. After a few strings pulled I found some work on Thursday morning. With this new job I had the promose of keeping my stuff and finally being able to start paying off the trailer. However on Thursday night I was removed from my home, on a surprise visit from my Ex-girlfriend. Without anywhere to store the parts, little money in pocket and now suddenly couch surfing down in town, I am forced to liquidate my belongings to help simplify and fund building a new life. I've started working, but until I begin to get the cash flow from the job I am scrounging little bits of cash from the few objects I can. Although I am getting out of cars for a brief moment, I am still working with them, and will be around all my friends with them. It will be a short period, but I need a break to catch up on everything else.

The wagon and blue are for sale. I do not want to sell them, but please don't let that stop you from buying them.

The wagon is a 12a rotary swap, with ae86 struts/brakes, tokico blues, power knuckles, true manual rack with manual cross member and brackets, AE71 steering column, welded diff, sparco sprint Jr seat, my steering wheel I brought back from japan. It runs and drives, but needs improvement. The last track day really showed me all the flaws of the build, so if I actually end up selling it, there is an easy short list of how to make it work even better.

Blue is the cleanest car I've ever built, and although she is having problems there is still a full set of supras, extra long lower control arms with matching custom tie rods. full AE71 steering column setup, rare E7 sport cluster with a tach, a clean T50 with a hard to find 4ac bellhousing, bolt in ae86/ae71 clutch pedal assembly, fairly fresh 3ac, Ae86 front struts/brakes, GTS steering wheel, clean title and a usable shell.

It hurts to have to get rid of the things I built with the favors and help of my good friends. I sincerely apologize to everyone who has given me a favor with my cars, and the corolla parts collections. I do not feel good about this, but I am faced with no other option. I do not know what parts remain, I am unsure, but I believe someone is picking up most of the parts this afternoon. However, there will be a few left that I will bring with me to hope sell off. I will build a new post for those items. Thank you for your time. If there are still parts you want, express interest. I cannot guarantee that they are even still available, but depending on who comes to grab stuff today, they may sell/give them away, it is up to them.

07-19-2011, 01:07 PM
95% of the stuff is gone. Huge thanks to Mike Day (Coldstar64) and Andrew Tower for coming over, grabbing the stuff they wanted and helping clear the rest of the scrap. I know a few others came by and grabbed things when I wasn't around as well, thanks to them too. There are still a few parts left I have squirreled away that will be up for sale.

I feel really bad ditching the parts people have brought me, but I had no other choice.

Both cars are still for sale, and viewable in Victoria.
