For my AW11 we removed the electronic sensor and replaced it with the mechanical speed gear. Then plugged in the speed cable into the mechanical gear. I have the part number here somewhere. Which transmission are you using?

    Edit:
"You will also need to replace the speed sensor with the speedo drive from the MR2."

I guess it should work for the AE92 as well.

    Edit 2:
    (From MR2OC)
    http://mr2oc.com/showthread.php?t=146563

C52 Speedo sender shaft and gear: 33403-19285 ($26.50)

    C52 Speedo sender housing: 33404-12030 ($18.03)

Double check those part numbers if you need to order the parts, make sure they are mechanical speed drive parts.
I'm 90% sure I ordered these and use them.
