    Its not really burning oil
    No blue smoke at all.
I did a compression test, plugs out, itbs wide open, engine hadn't run for a few days

Not good, but not nearly as bad as I would have thought.
Its just pressurising the crank? The dipstick never popped out either? So I guess my catch can set up flows nicely?

    Definitely a weird one.
I could almost put a drain from the catch can back to the oil pan, but I'm worried about it just blowing more out from the bottom.

How about fix your motor lol

You could put a check valve on the drain line. Might work.

Oil building up in the top of the head faster than it can drain? Sloshing to PCV port?

Talk out of my ass more?

I remember you saying you had more than stock capacity in the modified pan and had remarked the dipstick? Too much oil wouldn't cause this problem would it?

All of this will fix itself when you're not blowing explosions past your piston rings.

Does the motor still run ok? Are you going to keep driving it?

    It still runs fine.
    Has good power and stuff.
    Just makes a huge mess.
I'll probably do somethings with it, new rings and hone it.
Just don't have time to wait for parts and rebuild it right now

Combo of blowby on cyl4 and head just generally not draining back fast enough? Tap upper pan for drainback from the catch tank? as long as the pcv is done right you shouldn't have much pressure down there? Warren and Joel figured out that vacuum manifold sitch pretty well.

Collapsed piston. No more cam ground profile when measured across the pin boss then at 90 degrees. Sucks.

Rb25 run into a similar sounding issue, when you keep them at high rpm and lots of cornering the head fills up. A lot of people punch a hole in the back of the cylinder head and make a 5/8ths drain into the pan. Might be something to look into on top off fixing the engine.

Another solution is an oil restrictor to the head. But that sounds scary without someone having already done the R&D on the orifice size.

I ran rotella a few times in my 4A. Compared to amsoil I filled my can quick and had low pressure while hot.

The beams head has a huge oil return at the back of the head. Like 25mm id. It was one of my thoughts about what was happening. Maybe a blockage of the return

I've been running the rotella for a year, never had a problem till now

Also relevant, recently the car has been running rich, progressively worsening.
On the street at cruise, it got so bad it would surge and misfire
If left idling for a while it will go from 14.7 ish at first to 12:1 and if left for a while will get to 9:1
So, low Throtle cruise and idle get rich, pulling oil past the rings?

Sounds right, I had a bike that burnt so much oil I had to rejet the carbs richer when I put new rings in it.

Try running a vacuum pump to see if the problem goes away? That would about prove it.

Do you get a lot of blow by when idling and remove oil cap?
