so i don't want to scan through all 31 pages prior to this page to find out... but, how much did the whole swap roughly cost?

Not bad for a stock 1uz running stock electronics with nothing more than headers, exhaust and a short ram intake

leboe: total swap for the drivetrain cost me about $11-12k with no labour.

Nice numbers! Thats really good for a stockish 1uz. I'd say forget about boost. If you want to drop some money into it, go the cam route. Would cost alot but would balance out the hp/tq ratio and give you some big top end gains.

I think this includes upgrading the essentials like bigger rad, brakes ect. but you can't put a price on the custom work like building your own mounts, short ram, headers, wiring it up (except on the price of the materials) - if you can't do it yourself, you need to include a custom shop time at the going rate to make this stuff for ya. Did I forget anything else steve? :o)

    -Bellhousing/flywheel $1100
    -OEM Toyota Clutch Disc/Pressure plate/throwout/Clutch fork/slave cylinder $700

under 10G isnt bad for this swap, although im sure it doesnt apply to everyone. can be done cheapper..i've seen the CORRECT 1UZ's go for $500, and if I WERE to do the swap, i could cross these items off your list:

    fuel pump
    ac lines
    ps lines
    detroit rear end
    clutch
    tranny.

you went balls out though...totally clean, oem, nice!

Jesus, what transmission and rear-end are you planning to run? There is no way a W58 and MKI Supra rear-end can put up with a turbo'd V8...

By the way, I still love it

all depends on how you drive it, but yes the w58 and the supra axle won't be getting replaced anytime soon.

What other prep would a corolla already housing a v8 need? LoL the phrase of "will the chassis handle that?" is a pretty ambiguous phrase and could have any number of meanings. Will the car be able to putall that power down if doing a 5krpm Clutch dump? Of course not but that's why I am doing a remote mount setup that if you simply looked at the fact the turbo probably won't spool below 3500rpm most peoe would say it's going to be laggy but don't forget the engine already makes over 230ftlbs by that rpm in a 2700lb car. I don't need power in the lower rpm range but it does fall off considerably on the higher end of the scale.

Will the car go around a corner any better or worse if it has 247hp or 547hp? Not any difference cause the suspension and tires are the limit in that situation

will the chassis crack in two the first time I launch it? If it hasn't at 247whp of beating the ever living piss out of it every time I drive it then it's probably not going to the occcasional time it actually sees 300+whp

whats the thingy in the middle, electric oil pump?

i think steve just want to make the JCCS run in less than twelve parsecs.

so where are you going to mount the single turbo?
