    OVerpriced SC MR2

    Somebody doesn't realize there's a recession.

Actually no, screw it. Even during 2005 this was overpriced. I love MR2's and would like a mint SC someday, but people just don't realize that just cuz the engine's in the back, it not a ****ing Ferrari.

I sold an 89 superedition for that price, sure it was one of the last aw11's ever built and limited production, original mint paint.

he's not that far off whats reasonable for a MINT SC i'd say 7500-8500 is fair for a mint lhd aw11sc

^ Depends on how good of a deal it is...I just picked up a '90 Cummins 4x4 for cheap. But in general, you're right - people are hanging onto their pennies.

I dunno, that one in the advert looks pretty clean. If it were totally mint and had like 25 000 km, never modified, garage kept... I don't think that price would be too far off base.

Of course you can't tell any of that from the pics. It could be a turd and the guy a clueless dreamer.

I really want to race my Elan against an AW11 SC just to see how they do. Anyone game?

the most I'd pay for that is about 7000 grand. Honestly, what other car do you know of that is mid-rear AND is cheap to aquire and maintain? You're looking into supercar trriotry for that man. All mr2's in canada are overpriced yeah... but we only had them from 1991-1993 and to find a car with a mid-rear platform and be cheap to maintain is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

You want to drive a MR car? You want it to be on the cheap? An MR2 is the ONLY answer. this is why they are overpriced man. Collector cars right there.

He meant for the 2nd gen.

    We had the MR2 for 85-89, 91-93.

    USA had it for 85-89, 91-95, 00-05.

    Japan had it for 84-05.

It is not overpriced! If you are a die hard MK1 fan and are in the market for a clean original MR2 SC, you will soon realize how HARD they are to find. They are much much harder than a AE86. $8000 to $10000 is not unsual for a clean MK1 SC. I have seen them for $30000 before (the one in Toronto), now that can be consider a little overpriced! Also seen one for $17000...it was a mint NA.
These cars will be good collectors one day and worth every penny IMO.

Eh...I'd much rather pay that kind of money for a beautiful/restored example of a Porsche 914 or Fiat X1/9. Much more of a collector's car than an AW imo.
