T50 swap into an AE71, transmission mount,

So, Helping James get his **** organized.

When swapping a T50 into an Auto AE71 or ae86 for that matter, do you need a transmission mount and mount bracket from an manual car, or will the original mount and bracket work?

Don't think the mount will work. The bracket might.

It should be the same as an AE86

So, the cross member is correct (brackey) but the tranny mount isn't ?

Don't ask me what any of these differences are, but here they are (according to part numbers):

For AE71: Mount is different between A/T and M/T. Bracket is also different between 3-speed A/T, 4-speed A/T and M/T.
For AE86: Mount is different between A/T and M/T. Bracket is also different between A/T and M/T (AE86 only had 4-speed A/T).

AE71 vs. AE86: Mount is the same between AE71 and AE86. Bracket is different between AE72 and AE86.

when I did my swap the only difference was where the mount bolted to the chassis. I could be wrong. also the mount looks identical to my w56 mount my mazda uses . aka toyota 4x4 trans

    Coupe? As in 2dr-sedan (trunk)

    Coupe? As in Liftback

Coupe? As in Coupe (also called a sport-coupe)

Not that it makes a difference as to the tranny mounts. Its just a pet-peeve of mine when someone calls one of these 80-83 TE/AEs a coupe when its not actually a coupe.

Seeing as "Coupe? As in Coupe" doesn't clarify much and I don't know if I have less than 33 cubic feet of rear interior volume, I'm going to say it may be a 2dr sedan. It has two doors and a trunk.

    It's damn ugly

But... I love the way E7x 2-door sedans look. They are the most win kind of E7x Corolla for sure.
