In Aggasiz ministock class, we had to run a Holley 5200 or Weber equivelent. We weren't allowed the 32/36, but I know from experience that they work really well on a 3TC. I have a shelf full of 5200s, but none of them have the mechanical secondaries, which really is the hook up on these carbs. Jets and airbleeds can also be changed in them to make them perform better as well as changing the pivot on the accelerator pump. Holla at me if you need a 5200 Warren. airtime put those sidedrafts on his 3TC and it's faster than my GTS.

So does the weber 38 have a mechanical secondary?

I'm confused by your post. Would you recomend one of the 5200?

Most of us starting out in that class didn't have a lot of money to dump into our cars, so there was a lot of searching the junk yards. The old Pintos and Chevettes (and I can't remember what else) had mechanical secondaries rather than vacuum secondaries. The 5200 works fine IMO, even with vac sec. Your absolute best bet is to try and get a hold of the Island ministock people. Apparently they will be going to pro4 this year, so I imagine a lot of them will be dumping their old set ups. I think a lot of them were running Holley350s on their 3TCs.

Isn't the 5200 just a copy of the 32/36 dfav, a mirrored dgev? I put one on a justy once haha

So I'm resurrecting this thread.. because this thing actually still exists.
So last spring Warren got a little too cool.. and this happened:

And so he bought this to daily:

And the original daily sat at the side of the house for a while, until the city tried to tow it because they thought it was abandoned (I rescued it off the tow truck with 35 seconds to spare). After that Warren moved it, and it sat like this in his back lot at work for basically the last year:

And then he got bored of this:

So he sold the shell, and all the parts from the AE86 will be going in the original white E7 "daily". He's taken approx 6 months to get around to this.. and finally got the car in the shop 2 days ago. It begins:

(I expect Warren to take over with nerdy pictures from this point on)
