your prolly right, the diff is centered now and one wheel is flush and the other sticks out like half an inch.if i went lower i'd just rip apart 1 tire.back to the drawing board.....in a bit.

so heres, what the wheel well looks like now that i fabbed in a cover to keep debris from getting into the WG.it is actually open at the bottom, but a very small opening in theory to let some heat out.this external WG setup is fuking stupid.

its stupid because its so intrusive on that whole side of the car.
and means you have to relocate the stock proportioning valve to that nasty tee and union setup you can see.
i think i'll run with this mani for this next season and turff it, make something else.

bwhaa haa ha, guess who we ran into pubbing it up on my recent trip to Vic? Yeah, your gf was not impressed lol Again, sorry for pointing you out, the situation was just too funny.

Sorry for coming to the party late, I just saw this thread today for the first time.

That rear end damage is so common on these cars. Its caused by the design of the rear frame rails, they're really weak above the axel and they always kink there. I think if those rails were stronger alot of 86s would drive away from rear enders with just bumper damage. My ex wifes car came like this too. I had a frame shop straighted the rear end for 200 bucks, but the bodywork didn't pop back like yours, we had to hammer it and bondo it. Turned out ok though. Another buddy of mine bought an 86 coupe as well with the exact same damage too, and I've seen several other local cars with the same dents. I would encourage people to not pass on cars with this damage, its really not that hard to fix nor does it permantly screw the car up in any significant way.

Don't feel bad about cutting that hole for your WG. Consider it a pre emptive strike to the rust that was about to form there. Every other Canadian 86 either has a hole there or a metal patch already anyways lol.

Nice build man. Almost too nice to drift Looking forward to seeing this thing at some track days out here.

PS: all your pics on Page 4 aren't working right now.
