Nope, lots of 2wd v6's running around here.

and my '73 Hilux has a G code axle.. apparently toyotas narrowest G-code rear end.. the aussies rape them for use in their cars regularly..

Do the Previa rear. Has disc's stock. ****ty 7.5" though. Big enough brakes.

Or Ford 8.8 out of an Explorer.

    7.5 is fine. I think there's a 6.8 on it now.

Lots of choices. I'll hit the yard tomorrow and measure disk to disk to figure out what width will work best.

How much torque can the 7.5" take? I'll end up putting a SC on this thing some day.

If you're going to the trouble of switching diffs....go for the 8". Stock SC400 is a 7.87 or something close to that. How much torque is very subjective....tire compounds, driving style, weight of the whole car etc will all play a role.

Explorer 8.8 is a great option too. 31 spline axles and disks with parking brakes built in on '95 and newer.

a 7.5 is realistically pretty stout, id guess 400hp if you're not clutch kicking the **** out of it with massively sticky tires. my 8" is pretty close to its limit with the 600ftlbs i'm running (on drag slicks and hard launches that is)

Yeah from the jz swapped celicasupra crowd it sounds like the 7.5" diff can be ragged pretty hard. Not sure about axles though.

or, dont dick around with shortening existing axles and trying to find random bits n pieces to make the right rear end etc.. and just go full aftermarket..

    http://www.moserengineering.com/comp...rt-number.html

you can specify bolt pattern, width, you name it.

    huge parts availability after that.

Decided to go 5spd so it all has to come out. Waiting on parts, so progress is slow.

Air intake thing. Brackets are all just primer for now, I'll paint with real paint all at once.

5 Lug and W58. Corolla engine in the back

SAGA gauges. Lovin how the sunshield matches the stock dash. I've got them all wired now and it's pretty clean.

Everything has been done lol. X7 wagon, 1UZ, bags. Lots of cool vids.
Lots of the titles have HKS blah blah...I dont know what he's got for mods, but it's fast....enough, for a wagon.

    Adapter plate and F1 FW.

Laid the stock spacer over the fw and sprayed. Measured, punched and drilled at 10mm. I'm amazing at this stuff lol, all the bolts threaded in by hand. If you take your time, you don't need a machine shop to do it.

Saab9000 slave. All done. The mounting plate is ugly, but its centered so who cares.

    Done.

Horrible photo. Touchscreen/navi/everthing installed. I'm flocking all the woodgrain stuff black. I'll get better pics, It looks really cool.

Hatch panel cut for 5" speakers. These will run off the stock rear amp. A seperate amp will run 2 6x9 on the sides where stock used to be. I've got them custom mounted and set in. Another amp to a 12"sub. Upgraded front 3.5"s. It's going to pound.

Bought Steves R154 setup so the tranny is all out. Bought an Eaton M90 supercharger too. That won't happen for a while though.
Picking up a scrap x8 too for the rear IRS. Retarded.

I just wanted a nice dd...but things never go to plan.

You said it, not me. The fab involved is one thing, but it's going to be a much wider rear track width, wheel fitment will be janky, blah blah. Tucking with a solid axle and no camber problems is the way to go I think. Engine looks nice and stock in there.

Top mount with air to water intercooler. I might cut up the stock intake or just start from scratch. It WILL pop out of the hood, it WILL be awesome.
This won't happen for a while. Stance/style comes first.

    Sorry for saying "stance"

    Flock "n" roll.
    No more 80s woodgrain anywhere.
