Green Panda Coupe - The Ninja Turtle's Get Away Car

Picked this car up last year,

I originally was going to use it to 20V swap my SR5, but after sitting on it for a while I decided to fix her up and use it as my track car.

Previous Owner got into a fender bender so she needed quite a bit of work.

Had to replace the Front Bumper, Fenders, Headlights, Hood, Etc.

Also the Rear diff was toast, when we drained the fluids we found metal shavings galore, also when the diff hit that bad section of teeth, you got a nasty vibration.

Started work back in april but only really had an hour here and an hour there to work on it.

Things I'd like to get setup:
    - Celica Supra Wheels(Cuz every AE86 i own has to runnem)
    - Replace front bearings
    - Better Suspension
    - Heater setup so i could winter drive this car

Heres how she looked back in april parked at Brents Place.

Brent Welding up the Damaged Rad Support

Hood installed but no good alignment

Pulling the axels to replace the damaged Dif

Working late into the night to seal up the newly installed diff

Loading her up for the tow to Hamilton

Because of the bad alignment on the hood, pop up headlight wouldnt go down

Heres how she sat once we got it back to Hammer town and i took the hammer to the rad support to straighten it out so the pop-up headlights worked. Also fixed the hood alignment and zip tied in a grill.

Fixed all the lights so its safe to drive,

    Continuing Work

Heres the car primmed, you'll notice we didn't tape off the windows, originally we were planning to just roll on the paint but that idea back fired

Black Tremclad sprayed on with my $50 spray gun

Incase anyones curious i used a mixure of 1 cup of paint to 1/4 cup of laquer thinner, came out pretty good.

Looks good for cheap gun and cheap paint

Notice the really shotty green, thats what was left over after an attempt at rolling on paint went bad(we used too much thinner), we had to sand it down so it looked like ass.

Taped off and painted the upper half Green(Also Tremclad)

Left the trunk black for stylin

Got the paint for my hood

Car was squeeking like crazy when driven, we jacked her up and found out the front calipers were siezed

Had them Rebuilt(oooo nice and shiny)

Moulding Just Came in the Mail to complete the panda Look

    More to Come...

After getting the car on the road I discovered another issue,

Fuel leak right above the tank, my first assumption was bad rubber lines from sitting for a year +.

Couldnt find the issue so we had to drop the tank.

After dropped the tank I discovered the cause of the leak.

At some point the return line hard line was snapped off right at the base, probably by someone trying to change the fuel pump. Anyways looks like someone jammed a smaller pipe inside what was left of the return line, but it wasnt sealed at all, so soon as pressured built in the system is started spewing out

Picked up a new-ish fuel pump bracket from TriggerHappy and cleaned up the tank(lots of surface rust).

I've driven her around for a few days, running great

    Thanks Guys

The brutal Hamilton roads took their toll on my ****ty rear bumper which was already hanging on by rust alone.

So I'm on the hunt for a rear bumper, until I find one shes parked.

So after searching for a rear bumper replacement for the entire winter plus the beginnings of spring I decided I had to just move ahead and make my own.

I'm not saying this is safe for use, but its all i got till i can find a real bumper somewhere.

    Alot of Rotted Metal

Bumper Skin after cutting out the rot

    Bumper Mounts, still Solid

    Welding on a new Bar

New Bumper Bar, Drilled some holes so we could attach the skin to the bar

    Skin Attached

Before anyone says "Hey you shoulda used thicker metal" ya i know, I used what was available.

Only Temporary until I can find a solid bumper but this seems difficult in ontario, if you have one let me know.
