    One Mild 86

So I thought I would start this up and keep track of what I have done and will do to the little AE.
It will be my summer daily and see occasional track days.

    Some background:

This was my first car, an 02 WRX in 2008
Did a lot suspension tuning on it and tracked the hell out of it.
Blew a couple transmissions... it was good fun.
Then all the mods were taken off and the money was spent on my first AE.
    And recently, its been sold.
Time for a new winter car.

Then I bought this levin off my buddy who didn't have the money to get it running in 2010.
    Super MINT chassis from Japan!
I fixed it up, 20V ITBs, VI-PEC, cams, etc. for 4 months...

And within the first 4 hours of driving it... it ended up like this.
It didn't even make it home -___-"
Damn that man who ran the red!
Driving this thing down the 401, hitting 8500RPM and throwing it into corners got me soooo hooked.

I said I would not buy another AE but last year this ended up in my hands.
    They are so addictive!
    Bone stock, 170000KM original motor.
Body looked quite clean for an Ontario car, so I said what the heck and went for it.

Both my dust shields rotted away...
It wasn't too bad for my first time working on AE suspension.
Semi rounded a brake caliper adapter bolt and one of the strut bolts would not budge for a longgg time.
    So much rust LOL!

This is how it sits today... as of March 24, 2012.
Yes, I put the Rikens I am selling on the car.
No one wants to buy them from me
Bought some tires, mounted them, they all balanced out and hold air.
    Coilovers aren't dialed in yet.
But I am happy with the way it sits now!

Found some RX7 calipers for $100 at an importer.
So I bought them and gathered up everything else for the conversion.
Adapters arrived today so hopefully I can get this stuff installed soon.

And lastly, picked up some XXR002 15x9 +0 in full flat gunmetal.
I think I am going to have a hell of a time fitting them in the front but it'll all work out in the end
Still need my tires to arrive...

    That's it for now everyone.
    Man, I love these cars.

    Anyone want free tires?

Yeah I can agree with you on the AE86's being addictive.

So many times It's driven me to the edge of saying F*ck it, but then i end up working on them and loving it.

I've seen your red shell or rather whats left of it last year.

Good luck with the build, more pics

Yeahhh... I felt so bad about the levin.
My friends still throw low blows about the whole thing till this day.
    **** happens I guess.

I got a pretty good idea of where I am headed with this AE.
    More photos to come!

Bring the tires to the meet, I have a reputation to maintain.

I'LL GIVE YOU $1 AND I'LL COME GET THE TIRES RIGHT NOW! For real I wish I was earlier to the parade lol.

Nice car, to bad about the levin but **** happens I guess, as long as insurance compensated you accordingly(which I know still isn't enough).

How do you like the AE86 compared to WRX? Makes me feel better about liking old cars when I know people downgrade to them haha.

    Free tires taken by Josh.
Rikens also returned back to Josh lol... for something else.

Managed to get my tires pretty quick.
Of course my order was messed up... ordered Direzza DZ101s and got Direzza Star-Specs.
Ended up taking them for $100 more than the DZ101s, YAY!
Went to Steelcase to mount tires, 195/50 on a 9" haha, they had to use two cheetah blasters.

Had to trim the rear quarters, couldn't roll because previous owner used bondo to fix up the quarters I guess.
Used some black silicone and bedliner to seal the quarters back up.
Didn't even have to roll the front fenders to fit the wheels; I am not low enough.
Unfortunately BC coilovers don't go very low.

stupid bolt on the front rebar wouldn't budge... had to drill it out.
I am surprised I have so much of my rebar remaining.

I used to go there until there was a change in ownership.
