Bumper muffler... interesting idea... I have a few ideas flowing through my noggin right now, I'm 99.9% sure it will be too loud but it will get me past start up for sure. The problem I'm actually thinking of is with a smaller exhaust system (less backpressure) the cats might see more abuse, worried about them breaking down and getting sucked into the head.

Bodywork is coming, just picked up a 2012 bumper that fits real nice...

I hope it's from an R8, cause this thing has the cojones to back up a statement like that, plus some legit audi parts unnah da 'ood!

also, when you tire of those mufflers, can I have them?

Not an R8 bumper, the styling of that and the mr2 is too far apart. I'll probably be cutting up the bumper I have to make fit with the headlights I'll be getting. Frankenstein...

Well it's been a crazy week: the build is now a year old. Finally had time to clean up some ugly parts on the back and start a few of the visual modifications. Gotta save up some cash for every one of the next steps so hopefully I can make this all come together.

are those trailer fenders hacked to make inner fenders, or did you form those yourself?

Also: I didn't truly understand how wide this project was going to be until I saw those inner fenders attached. This is going to be beautiful!

look like Princessauto trailer fenders to me! I can start to get a picture of what it might look like. The hatch is a nice touch!

Test fit the taillights today, trying to figure out where my hinges will be for the hatch.

Suicide hinges done! Modification could probably work with a factory mr2. In fact I'll probably do it to my next 2... lol

also, I can't believe I forgot to mention earlier: hatch gets the snatch.

This hatch is going to look cool.

Not really sure how useful that is, but cool none the less. Incredible build all around, stoked to see this get finished.

Not really useful, but it was easier to make a hatch work if it pivoted at the back. There's not a lot of clearance on the roof for anything other than a latch.

I got the hatch into one functioning piece today. Also did some little cosmetics in the engine bay air intake area. Gearing up for some quarter panels (note the large boxes )
