LOL I meant touge. Screw the AE86 & FR-S, the chinese knock-off "Geneiss" will steal all the ID fanboy hearts away.

Doesn't matter if it's old, the handling speaks for itself. So what the old 240z and 510 have terrible handling because they are 40yrs old? No, they have great handling. The miata and rx7 are especially known for great handling and they are 20yrs old.
Yes the corolla has a solid rear axle and all suspension components aren't impressive by any extent but the handling is better than a 240sx which has full independent suspension and weighs less than the genisis. Depends if you know how to drive it. Gotta use it's entry speeds and being able to accelerate so early before the apex.
Only way to solve it is take them to the track.

Hopefully the Genesis makes an appearence on the fifth stage to answer this question once and for all.
If it was on tv it must be true right?!?

Yeah any motorcycle > 600cc could leave these cars in it's dust.
*edit* Surprised no one called out the fallacy of my posted point.

I cannot see a corolla having more mechanical grip then a 240sx. If you have ever been to a real race track with off camber turns, elevation changes ect you would know this. I have tried to chase down newer cars with the same tires and believe me, the stability is worlds apart. Both can be fast but a 240 is much easier to handle and much easier to correct mistakes with. Corollas just arent forgiving, and frankly I now people with 2001+ mustangs that rip the track up with solid axles.

Its all in setup. For what its worth theres a guy named matt in aus who races his old Ke and he is extremely competitive with the big nissan cars.

Both lol. But I've raced s13's and old Z's to compare and granted the Z and s13 could take more power the s13 didn't handle as well. But instead of spending 10grand to get a corolla fast enough just buy a rx7 for 15-20grand and end it there.
Yes you can make a corolla faster and no it wouldn't take 30grand to do it but there are better cars out there to choose from to do that with.

I want to chime in here just say that a 1971 datsun 510 that is turbocharged with a single weber carb comes out sometimes to autocross. There is a not a single car that has been able to beat that car when he comes out. This include genesis, ferraris, etc. Even in a straight line he wins. Its power to weight and if you go far enough back you'll find that really old cars have a huge advantage and in the case of the 510, the rear suspension is quite special too. Front sucks but with hoosiers you don't notice.

In the case of my corolla with all the tuff I keep adding to it, and man have I added weight. It comes in at 2070 lbs.

Or you could have said "sorry, my kidnap victims keep kicking my elbow, it made me drop my crack pipe and swerve"

No. If I were to make a race machine around 8ib/hp I'd grab a 510. Arguably best handling car in it's class of compact cars

The only way to settle an argument as absurd as this is with a video game. Pop in your game of choice get an '86, mod it... Then get a genny and leave it stock... Set your best lap in each and compare.

First you need to buy that speed chime off of Q, then stick a cup of water in your cup holder. That is the true path.

^ rainbow dust in your intake and unicorn piss in your gas tank = 10000hp and 5g's of downforce.

Is 20 pounds for the weight like 30 if a guy lifts?

No gym for home, work out floor with 30, but is it for 20 like 30 lb when you no lift it to be for men, for 30 lbs instead? or half is 10 for 20 pounds?
