    The Project starts!

Finally had some time to start this project, when to Toyota to see if I can find the rear trunk weather seal and they don`t carry it anymore so have to look on ebay now, while there found out the car is an 85 even though it was built in December 84. Anyway I opened one of fridge boxes of items, and wow so many pieces and parts and goodies. Cleaned out the car found no rust at all on the floor pans, just have to scrap off some parts of the padding from the carpet. So decided to change over some of the grey pieces to black. Since the dash was in excellence condition and was grey with black bottom, also the door panels where black with a grey center strip. I continued that theme through the car so around the doors and windows top half is grey and the bottom is black. Found out that the black pieces are from and sr5 so rear panels don`t work since I`m missing a piece. So now I`m going to see if I can copy that patten to the grey gts version. Or change back the piece to all grey. Have to get a broke panel shelf if I can find out since the one I have is for the hatch with a third brake light. I`ll use the broke one to fill the hole, and try to match the fabric. Click image for larger version.

and finally the engine bay, doesn`t look like I have alot to do but who knows first I`ll finish up the interior and work on the engine bay. Also when over the body no rust at all under the car is caked with rust proofing and is all solid.

Still have one box to go. Need to clear out stuff to make room for the rest. I have a GTS hatch, grey & black interior pieces, grey rear seats. a black rear carpet and grey trunk carpet, oem front and rear bumpers. I`ll post photos up once I get the chance. Also may be looking for pieces if there not in the other box.

Model years are almost always a year ahead of the actual manufacturing date, sometimes two. Since yours was made so late in 1984 it might actually be an 86. I'm curious to see if it actually had some kouki parts. Do you still have the bumpers that came with it from the factory?

haven't done that much finally install the interior minus the seats and the rear panel I'm looking for, install the sprinter lights. How to start on the engine since it is getting a bit warmer. So much info out there can be overwhelming not sure where to start!

here is an update, got the interior mostly complete still missing some small trim piece hopefully I can find them. got the jdm rear bumper on, the hatch is going for paint in the fall. waiting for screws for the trueno front bumper. The engine will be the last part, wiring is done, just small pieces missing. i figure engine piece will be easier to find than interior parts.
