    W59 trans TACOMA 95-04

    I'm looking for a w59 trans out of a 4cyl 2wd Tacoma 1995-2004.

I really just need the bell housing but if anyone has a parts truck or knows of one let me know!

On the island or Vancouver preferred.

I'm not educated on the differences, other than 2rz clutch is on driver side. I have a free w42 bellhousing pretty sure it is the same as the early w59's with clutch on passenger side. Won't work for you because of starter location?

Does it bolt to a 2RZ?

Excuse my ignorance, but what's stopping you from using a 3rz bell? I know they're 4x4 but I'm assuming that doesn't change the bell?

w42 / 4 speed trans is going to be from a 20R/22R .. different motor pattern than 2R/3R

Nothing really, I just feel like its very unlikely to find just a bell housing. So I would rather get one with a trans I can use then and 4x4 whatever.

Ah okay. Well I do have one in Ontario but I think it would cost you more than it's worth for me to pull and ship it.

Have you checked all the mainland wreckers? There's like 10 on Mitchell Island.

I am next winter hopefully Rambo.

Yeah they all want to sell entire transmission, which is fine, but the prices they ask are around $500.

Did you tried directly at the Toyota dealer? They sell JZ to W bellhousing around 300$... maybe it could be the same for RZ to W bellhousing. You can also look on a Tacoma/4Runner/T-100 forum. RZ engines with manual tranny all have the same bellhousing... 2WD and 4WD.

Yeah sorry man I don't think I could do it for near $500. I think that's not a terrible price. And Rambo that's a great idea!

$500 for a trans on the island. Mystery condition. No thanks.
