1982 Toyota Corolla TE72 Wagon Highschool Project

Hey everyone my names Brandon I live in the Colwood/Langford area on Vancouver Island! I'm 16 and I recently purchased a 1982 TE72 Wagon. First ill tell you about the car, then ill show you what I have done, and lastly I will tell you what I am planning to do!

It has a 1.8L 3tc engine, 5spd Manual Transmission, it's rusty and it has a nasty leaking sunroof.

So here it is when I purchased it (stock):

First order of business was gladly removing the (extremely rusted) rear bumper:

Next was cutting the front springs, because I don't want to buy expensive coilovers. As you will see in this next picture, after the springs were cut my dad and I dropped it down and as he was pulling the jack out the handle came off... The car was sitting on top of the jack!

    What needs to be fixed:
    -Starter most likely.
-Clutch has a high engagement point.
    -Lame aftermarket sunroof that leaks.

My future plans are not to crazy, they're pretty standard I would say.
-Dished Rims with stretched Tires, looking for 14x8 fronts and 14x10 rears, zero offset for both. Or 14x7 fronts with small -offset and rears with large -offset. If anyone has any please let me know, or if you have something that may work better that's fine to!
    -Front Chin Spoiler.
-Lowering the rear with either 3 inch lowering blocks or re-arching the leaf springs.
    -JDM Fender Mounted Mirrors.
-Custom Exhaust; dual 2" pipes coming up over where the rear bumper would be, not CRAZY but not suttle either.
-Possible Custom Hood Art? Let me know if you have an idea of what it could look like. Again not crazy but not too suttle.
-New offset steering wheel that I already have.
-New Sparco Pedals that I have but I'm not sure I want to install.
-Flares maybe, or just rolling the fenders.

If you have any inexpensive ideas that I should do/try please let me know if I like it, it will probably happen. Also let me know what you think about my future plans!

**I don't know how that picture of that 240z got down there but it wont let me remove it so just ignore it**

Good start, though I'm sure you could find used coilovers for reasonable $$$ when you get tired of cut springs. My fb page (see sig) has tonnes of inspirational E7 wagon pics if you have time to kill lol.

    GL with the build!

Before i painted my corolla the faded flat black paint looked like a chalkboard. I let some of my friends draw on it. There were a lot of dicks.

Is this the car with the weber and the header? If you want to part with those shoot me a pm. Interested in seeing what you do with this car, I went and looked at it when it was for sale.

Don't dream of some expensive engine swap. 3TCs are awesome and can handle some serious HP -- for way cheaper.

What I learnt from my current build (I'm in HS as well) is to tell nobody, I've been asked "When will it be done?" a few times EVERY day since the beginning of the year...

Jokes aside, Colbskee (on DK and IG) has a sweet wagon for inspiration, looking forward to your build!

Yes it is, I don't think ill be selling anything though, maybe if you have a replacement or stock weber and header and the right amount of cash I could do that.
