    its dead.

killed the 1uz at cap d on saturday. I guess i ran it low on oil and it spun a bearing.. it was down about 1.5L of oil once i noticed, but it was too late. tried to drive it home, but got 2 blocks before it would barely run, then the motor completely seized trying to load it on a trailer. It's sitting in Victoria now, and i need to get it home at some point, and swap another motor set in.

On the bright side, it died near the end of the day, and I got to drive a whole bunch still. Lost in top 16 again, as per usual, but that doesnt matter as the rest of the day was a blast!

Let me know if you need help with the extraction/install

If there's one thing I've learned from the first two thirds of the MC Hammer Biography, it's that money never runs out.

I guess theres another update here:

Bought a 1uz for real cheap. On a very quick inspection there were some signs of a possible rebuild. Upon actually looking at the motor, that became untrue. Definitely not rebuilt, but seems decent. has over 240,000 ks, as the timing belt sticker says thats when it was last changed, in 2004. (though the belt looks fairly new, maybe it sat not long after that.) Either way, got the new motor swapped into the car. The new motor was from a 93 LS400, and my old one is from like a 90 or 91? they have slightly different harnesses/ecu plugs etc. Because of this, and because i wanted to freshen some things up, i decided to swap the entire intake maifold, as well as starter, engine harness etc over from the old motor to the new. Got it all sorted, and it fired first go, no hiccups. Drove the car around for a couple of days so far, and it seems to be decent.

I also got it done just in time for the All Japanese Classic show.

That's pretty awesome for something with super wacky roll centers and some kinda skinny all seasons I imagine? I am sure you were wheeling it pretty hard!

Too bad you don't have vid. Love how it sounds.

Lol, yeah it did well for what it is. the power helps a lot. And yeah, no roll canter correction, (i need to grab some RCAs) and rocking 185/60/14 crappy triangle tires all around - though they are great tires for drifting.

I also scrapped the blown motor, and i dont have a truck, so this happened:

    Spring update!

Not much has changed. Finally installed my oil filter relocation after I pieced together all the AN bits for it. Fern welded me up this fancy adapter and made it all work.

I also bought some louvers last fall, and finally got the nerve to cut into my hood and install them. They are just mild steel units, from rodlouvers.com - there were other premade and powdercoated options available, but for around double the cost. Just had to paint these and drill holes for the rivets. One day if I decide to paint the car, I will weld them into place, but I didnt want to lose the patina of the factory paint yet.

Also ordered up tires for this drift season. Hopefully plating the car pretty soon too.
