It's almost time to lower the starlet. I got in the 1990 Camaro Rear shocks and some Stock replacement front strut cartridges. I'm going the cheap and easy way to lower the car. I'm cutting one coil out of the stock spring and throw in these new shocks/struts. Eventually I will do some build your own coil overs, but for now this will work.

I love getting in parts that are still in the 80's packaging. So Nostalgic

So a couple weeks ago I was driving home from work and the starlet started running really rough. I had to give it a good amount of gas just to keep it alive and get going. I assume it's either a vacuum leak that has gotten slowly worse over time or maybe spark plug wires. So i ordered up a set of nice NGK plug wires. Which i will be putting on this weekend.

I also havent been driving it as much because it has been really snowy here in Montana. So here it sits cold as hell

    Three years later

    Big Update time!!

After attempting to diagnose the problems myself and having the starlet sitting for quite a while, i finally got a shop to take on the project of figuring out why its running rough. A local auto shop messed with it for a couple weeks. They replaced the gas as it was bad and tested the fuel pressure and injectors. Had fuel pressure and getting spark. They found the intake gasket went bad and the exhaust gasket was burned out. Also a few of the exhaust bolt and nuts had vibrated loose. So the exhaust was barely hanging on, therefore not giving the engine any back pressure.

Finally driving around town again taking the cart parking spots.

Found a great deal on some fenders from Malaysia. Just had to go with it and hope they showed up unharmed to the USA.

Threw on the fenders with some ebay fender mirrors. Then painted the headlight surrounds and grill so they match. installed the new front end with some Ebay LED lights. The ebay LED are so darn bright and a million times better than those old H4 lights.

    SHOP TIME!!

After sliding the car around on some snow I realized I need the rear end locked up. It was too hard to predict when the rear end would break loose with the open diff.

So I took the little starlet to my friends shop to weld up the rear diff.

Locking up the tiny little diff.

Now having a custom front bash bar made. Gotta be legal and have a front bumper.

Pics of the finished bumper to come soon!!
