Looks like a fantastic build Jeff. Im interested in your opinion of the final result, if the reward/investment is as great as we all figure it to be.

Are you running both ECUs or did you trick the 250 ecu into compensating?

He's getting the 350 PCM reprogrammed in japan by someone. I asked about this but my post got sucked into the void.

Jeff! who are you getting to reprogram your 350 pcm?

Thanks guys, I'm still not out of the woods yet, still need to get things all working properly and a few things left to figure out.

Of course it's going to depend on what you can find some of the pieces you need for, the engine and harness being the big items (along with the clutch and ECU'(s)). Quite a bit, lol, but I'd rather not say exactly what I'm spending.

I feel like it should be an amazing car when it's done, and I look forward to reviewing it. It was a fantastic car before I started, but the chassis is so much more capable than what the 4GR can provide (see IS F). Should be a blast!

I had contemplated a few ways to get the 2GR running on the 4GR ECU, but ultimately decided it better to use the 2GR ECU.

It's confidential! It's not 100% that it can be done yet, I may post more information if things are successful.

At some point I will probably get rid of it, you can have it when that happens.

So I figured now that the car has actually driven with a 3.5L engine, I can legit change the nameplate on the back.

    Behold!

    More to come.

It could get real entertaining depending on where it ends up

I want to see the fallout from OBDII emissions testing bringing up a different VIN than what's on the vehicle lol
I hate Corollas but I don't think I can do better with anything else

Just like that 2005 Tundra 2WD that came in with a complete 2004 4WD engine, transmission and driveline. It was a complete swap, inside and out from Hurricane Katrina. So confusing at first to get parts for, haha.

Finally got the stopping parts of this swap in yesterday, I had really wanted to go with the GS350/RC350 2-piece 14-inch brakes, but I didn't want to be forced to run 18-inch wheels in the winter (plus needing 2 new sets of wheels, 2 new sets of tires, a new spare wheel and tire, etc.), and so I stuck with the 13-inch brakes from the IS350/GS350 that will clear 17-inch wheels. They're more than enough for what I do with the car, if it ever becomes a track car that may change, who knows. I'm using the stock F-Sport/high-friction Textar T4146 brake pads, they dust a lot, but the initial bite they provide combined with the low noise is a fantastic combination.

Just need the shims to come in from California to get these installed.

Also got the new windshield installed as well so I can finally get the cowl and wiper linkage put back in place.

Things keep progressing. Getting things figured out and the new brakes are now on the car. Hopefully can drive it properly soon!

I'm impressed that you took on this rare, if not never done, swap.

Think it would be possible to get the OEM supercharger from the 2GR Mark X going as well?

If I was to consider any additional power, I think a different clutch setup would be required. There are some forced induction options out there for the 2GR-FSE, but I am not considering any of them at the moment, no. Maybe a long time down the line, lol.

Are you still on Facebook? I had posted a few things on there, though I am keeping most of it under wraps until Sunday.

I will provide this photo from our first pre-season test. I fully expect some mid-season upgrades to happen, especially with regards to our race livery. Based on the results from our testing though, we are much improved from last season. I hit an unfortunate snag when attempting to install the Supra calipers and Porterfield pads earlier this week and so will go into the first event running the stock brakes.

    See you on the ice!
