    05 corolla woes bad ecm?

It's alittle too new to ask but my wife's 05 corolla 1zzfe had abit 0f a mishap lol. Its coming up with a code of p2103. It worked great until me and my kind nature and foolish ideas swapped the ecm into another 05 to solve a no start condition. Now with the ecm swapped back in it won't rev over 1500 and is in limp mode. Any toyota techs have access to a new ecu for me?

P.s. my wife is soooooo pissed

Depending on the VIN, there was a recall on these ECU's on Corollas built from 05-08, although given what you did it maaaay not apply

Although the recall was pertaining to cracks developing on the circuit board causing engine lights, harsh shifting, and outright no run conditions, so maybe through handling the ECU you caused the problem the recall is trying to solve.

Your buddy with the 05 may be affected by this as well, run the VIN's against https://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/secure/recalls

I hate Corollas but I don't think I can do better with anything else

Here's the table for a Toyota tech to determine if you need a new ECU
