Greetings from Calgary
Hi,
My name is Bob and I guess I'm so old that these "old school" Toyota's don't even seem old to me. I've owned a lot of Toyota's over the years but currently I'm down to only one; prepare to yawn, it's a Rav4. Okay, it's not very inspiring I know, but it just goes and goes without me having to give it any attention whatsoever. There's something to be said for that. I'm a car enthusiast and a racer from way back. I haven't raced anything since Race City closed down, but once it's in your blood, you can't really shake it.
A friend suggested that I check out this forum as I am considering fabricating some carbon fiber parts for an AE86 (starting with a hood) and thought I'd see if there was any interest in anyone else wanting one. These would be geared toward toward racers or at least toward the type of people that want light weight and strong as opposed to the "not so light" but beautiful composites.
Anyway, sorry, I was getting sidetracked. I'm glad to have been directed to this site, and hopefully be of some benefit to members as this forum will surely help me.

Welcome!
Definitely would be interested depending on price and quality, also helps that you're local. I'm actually learning a bit of carbon work myself, I recently just got on the UofC Schulich Racing team and learning carbon through them but if you've got any tips and tricks or have the time to show a newbie the ropes I'd love to learn. Can also help provide some AE86 parts if you need to make molds and such. Would like to see pictures of any of your work as well!

I'm hardly an expert, but you are welcome to come over to my place and I'll show you what I'm up to. I'm in the NW near Canada Olympic Park and I'm retired so I'm around home a lot.

+1 For Bob.
Good Guy. he visited me at my shop. I got panels for him to copy so he is set there.
like he said , what he is planning to build is not pretty parts but purpose built for light weight/ racing use.
Its a big job in a competitive market. His big plus for us is that he is local. lets support him.
Gary
